Fundraiser Spotlight: Seth Rogen's Hilarity for Charity

On Febuary 26th, Seth Rogen testified in a Senate subcommittee meeting on the topic of Alzheimer's disease. The topic hit home for the comedian/actor when his mother-in-law was diagnosed at the age of 55.( If you didn't catch the speech you can watch the clip here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hvdbHSGWAgs ) The first Hilarity for Charity event was held in 2012 and raised an over $300,000 with performances by Bruno Mars, Pauly D, and Judd Apatow. Next, they are coming to New York City for there event on April 8th at the Jane Hotel in the West Village. The events proceeds with go towards the Alzheimer's Association to help families facing the high-cost of care for their loved ones. In addition to the comedic styling of Seth Rogen, Aziz Ansari, Natasha Leggero, Demetri Martin, and Hannibal Buress will also being performing. Vogue: Huge Hollywood Stars Without a Cover

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are on the cover of the April issue of Vogue. Their photo on the largest U.S fashion magazine created quite a stir on social media when the cover photo was released over the weekend.  Many Vogue readers were upset at the choice of West and Kardashian on the cover and I began researching high profile celebrities that have never been on the cover. Sunday night at the Oscars, the creme-da-la-creme of cinema came out for the award show of the season! The most notable fashion choices of the night were the colorful suits and the prominent color trends of navy and white.  Many of the actors and actresses had a slam dunk for their fashion picks and I did you the favor of compiling them all into this lovely blog post! Lupita Nyong’o The 12 Years A Slave actress paired her first Oscar win with this amazing light blue Prada gown.  The cut and color look flawless on her super toned body, and a headband is the perfect finishing touch! Olivia Wilde Wilde may be 8-months pregnant with her first child, but that didn’t stop her from picking out a stunning black Valentino gown for last nights show!   With our big Nolcha Fashion Week event coming up next week, (1/12) I thought it would be the perfect time to share with you one of the designers that I am super excited about, Christian Benner.  Benner takes existing band shirts and leather jackets and redesigns them into one-of-a-kind pieces. NYC Restaurant Week Event Changes for Winter 2014

NYC Restaurant Week is a blissful time for frugal New Yorkers and tourists alike.  Many look forward to event, which comes around twice a year in the early winter and summer seasons where restaurants gather together to offer a prix fixe menu at a discounted price.  Restaurant Week has become a popular event and has even expanded to other large cities as well.  Unfortunately for this Winter 2014 season, NYC Restaurant Week has been delayed due to the Super Bowl being held on February 2nd. Many participating restaurants experience a high volume of consumers during the Super Bowl and felt it was necessary to delay NYC Restaurant Week for a less busy period of time. In the past, the promotion began in mid January and this year it will be pushed until mid February. In addition to the delay, NYC Restaurant Week will also be a shortened by a week to increase demand and maximize profits for participating restaurants.
